Summed up sermon this week-

Last night Pastor Jaime spoke from Ephesians 4: 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. 14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming

Some of the things that Paul is encouraging us to do in this text are:

1. Have unity in the faith. The world is trying to indoctrinate us with the idea of uniformity. They want us to look the same, think the same, act the same. We don’t need uniformity to have unity. We can look different, think different and still come to a place of unity.

2. Become Mature. There are things that I did as a child that I no longer do because I have matured. Maturing has nothing to do with age, it happens when we allow God’s spirit (and His word) to guide the way we think and how we make decisions. 1 Tim 4:12 says, “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”

This has nothing to do with an age thing…but everything to do with Godly principles and the Holy Spirit leading your thoughts and decision making.

3. Attain the fullness of Christ. This part of the verse talks about exercising our spiritual gifts! When we do that, we point people to the heart of God!

4. Have stability. Once we live these things out, we will have stability and will not be tossed back and forth like a ship on a stormy sea. Instability is a breeding ground for insecurity that leads to fear, torment and hopelessnes.

We love you guys and are praying for you this week. That God would challenge you and help the truth of His word sink into our hearts so we can live His word out in our daily life!

Blessings,

Pastor Jaime
